LEAP Datacenter Energy Saving Challenge takes off

20 major Dutch companies with a big IT footprint in Amsterdam datacenters form the ‘coalition of the willing’, take up the challenge of saving energy by activating the ‘eco mode’ of their servers. Expectations are energy savings of at least 20% – 40% without sacrifice of significant performance and response. Eco mode affects only energy consumption of devices when being idle;

WCooliT participates in the LEAP Datacenter Energy Saving Challenge by introducing the Server Idle Coefficient (SIC) and Datacenter Idle Coefficient (DIC) as measured indicators for the well doing of servers in energy saving during idle cycles.
